If it is accepted that all of human society is a slow progression towards a utopia, then capitalism is an evolutionary dead-end.
In the simplest of terms, capitalism is a system used to distinguish between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' or rather, to place people on a spectrum of having and not having.
If your society includes 'haves' and 'have nots' then it is not a utopia.
